How to Make Stovetop Espresso, Moka Coffee
- Firstly remove the top part and the filter funnel of the coffee maker and fill the bottom chamber with fresh water. Make sure not to fill past the safety valve. TIP: Preheat your water before filling the boiler to make your brewing process faster and more consistent!
- Then fill the filter funnel with freshly ground espresso coffee. Once that’s done, put the filter funnel back into the lower part of the MILANO STONE and screw the top part back on. We recommend the Smooth silver espresso as our favorite coffee for making Italian style moka coffee.
- Next, put the MILANO STONE on your stove on a low-medium flame setting. Turn the stove down when coffee bubbles up from the filter funnel and into the upper section. The gurgling sound will have stopped indicating the coffee is ready
- Finally, remove the MILANO STONE from your stovetop and serve. You can drink the coffee as a strong, flavourful espresso like coffee or use as a base for a cappuccino.

The Safest Stovetop Espresso Maker on the Market
The MILANO STONE Moka pot is made from food safe aluminum a non-toxic silicon gasket seal. This moka pot can be used on all gas and electric stoves, however because it is aluminum it is not suitable for induction stovetops.
This is considered the best moka pot because it is the only espresso maker stovetop that features a burn guard on the grip to protect your fingers from touching the hot surface of the pot. In addition, it also features a ‘Made in Italy’ certified safety valve that prevents internal pressure from increasing to a dangerous point.
How to Care for your Moka Pot
They say the older these pots are, the better they work. They can last a lifetime with proper care. Always hand wash your moka pot. They are not dishwasher safe. In a dishwasher the aluminum will tarnish and turn black.
Every 3-6 months or so you should consider changing the silicone seal that is in the pots and the one that maintains pressure in the boiler section to brew the fine ground coffee.

Their love of coffee is something that Italians are known for. In Italy, the most popular way of brewing coffee is in an Italian stovetop espresso maker or Moka pot. While espresso that is purchased in a cafe here is often made in a high pressure machine that runs at around 15 bars of pressure, stovetop espresso makers work with lower pressure.

The MILANO STONE Espresso Stovetop Coffee Maker comes in four sizes: 3 cup, 6 cup, 9 cup & 12 cup. However, like any espresso machine, moka pots do not brew regular North American coffee cups. Their sizing is referring to espresso shots. For reference, the actual capacity of the espresso makers is :3 cup is 150 ml or 5 fl. oz. | 6 cup is 275 ml or 9.3 fl. oz. | 9 cup is 450 ml or 15.2 fl. oz. | 12 cup is 700 ml or 23.6 fl. oz

What is laser-etching and what process is used on customization?
We do in-house custom laser engraving on our products. GROSCHE laser engraves all custom and personalized gifts to give them a polished, premium look and feel. Laser engraving/laser etching machines remove the product’s top powder coat and etches the custom design into the custom water bottles, mugs or coffee makers. The result is a sleek stainless-steel shine.
What is the difference between painted and laser?
Laser engraving is a premium finish compared to painted customization. That is because your order is permanently etched into the product, and won't peel or fade over time. Our GROSCHE production team will laser etch your design on our product one by one to give the perfect finish. We love making the best gifts for employees, clients, or customers that you can give.
What is the warranty/return policy on an etched product?
We have a standard one-year warranty on any manufacturing defects. The warranty does not cover breakage due to use or mishandling.We do not refund returns for custom products.If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to contact us! Does getting my custom order take longer?
We make all custom orders in house. This may take up to an additional 24 hours to complete your order. We appreciate your patience as we do our best to get the best quality product to you in a timely manner.
Can I edit my custom order?
Edits or changes cannot be made to your order once submitted. We encourage you to double check your order before submitting. We appreciate your understanding.
Why was my order cancelled?
As a company out to change the world one cup at a time we have strong values of social justice, inclusivity, kindness and empathy. We reinforce that by making sure that offensive, potentially offensive or profane words do not appear on our products. Orders that do not meet our standards will be cancelled and refunded within seven business days. Additionally, we respect the intellectual property rights of others and ask that you do the same. All text is reviewed upon submission and if the order infringes on any copyright or trademarks your order will also be cancelled and refunded. NOTE: 3 cup can not be personalized at this time. All customized orders placed with these moka pot sizes will be cancelled.
Is there a colour option for the etching?
Since our products are engraved through laser etching, this process simply removes the painted layer of the moka pot to reveal the aluminium material underneath. This does show up differently depending on the colour of your Milano so please refer to this guide to see how an etched design appears on different colours.
What are the dimensions on how large you can etch my design?
For the Milano Moka Pot we can etch various sizes of designs and text depending on the size of the moka pot. See attached chart for visual details. NOTE: Due to the limited space for etching, 3 cup can not be personalized at this time

Is there a minimum order for engraving?
No, if you are interested in purchasing more than four we recommend considering purchasing through our Co-Branding Program for bulk pricing.
Can you engrave fonts that you don’t have listed?
At this time we are unable to engrave fonts outside of our current offerings. We are always looking for new ways to grow our creativity so be sure to check back because things may change. The fonts we currently offer are; Photography Signature, Vogue, Lemon Milk & Helvetica Neue.
Is there a limit to number of characters and do characters include “spaces”?
Yes, the limit is 14 characters. This does include spaces. NOTE: Due to the small amount of etching space the 3 cup can not be personalized at this time

Why is there a price difference for etching?
The etching process takes additional time and care to ensure that we give our customers the absolute best result. We have added additional costs to be able to cover the cost of this process.
