Canadian Breakfast Organic Black Tea
This bold organic black tea is perfect for kicking off the day. With a boost of caffeine and a strong flavour, our Canadian breakfast tea will become part of your morning ritual. Black tea is typically a stronger flavour than other teas. This is attributed to the oxidation of the tea leaves. The black colour of the tea leaves also comes from this process, leading to the name: black tea. Unlike other teas black tea has a long shelf-life, meaning you can stock up and enjoy this tea for the months to come! What makes this tea “Canadian” is the way it is blended. For a black tea to be considered Canadian, it must be a blend of at least 2 or more black tea leaves from the Camellia Sinensis plant. These leaves must contain at least 30% soluble water extractive and 4-7% ash.

Making this beautiful blend requires quite a bit of effort and understanding about tea leaves. Unlike coffee this black tea will not stain your teeth, it will actually contribute to good oral health! The polyphenols in black tea reduce bacteria growth and can prevent tooth decay. While this tea works away on your tea, it is also enhancing your immune system and improving heart health. This breakfast tea can also help aid digestion, so it can even be enjoyed after a heavy meal to help ease any discomfort. How to Steep it
To brew this tea hot, add one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for every 12 oz. (350 ml) of water. Using boiling water, let it steep for 2-4 minutes. Once steeping has completed, remove loose leaf tea and enjoy. We like adding a little bit of honey and milk.
Although we fancy drinking this tea hot, you can also enjoy it over ice. To make this tea iced, add one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for every 9 oz. (263ml) of water. Let the tea steep for 2-4 minutes in boiling water. Once steeping has completed, remove the loose leaf tea, pour over ice and enjoy.

Use this Canadian Breakfast tea to make a refreshing summertime drink! Add a spoonful of sugar and infuse your tea with peaches for a sweet tea that will help you beat the heat.
