What is gunpowder tea?

Gunpowder tea is a classic green tea made up of leaves hand-rolled into tiny pellets. These resemble gunpowder and give this tea its distinct name.

How to brew green tea

We recommend you avoid using boiling water with green teas. Why? Boiling water can scorch the delicate leaves of a green tea. that can over extract the tannins in the leaf making it bitter. Since this is a full leaf tea, you will want a teapot that has ample room for the tea leaves to expand and unfold. That will release the full flavour of the strawberry green tea. Hot Tea

• 1 heaping teaspoon of tea | 12 oz. / 350 ml of water
• Steep for 2-3 minutes | water temperature: 75° C/ 170° F

Cold Tea

For the iced tea, brew a hot concentrate and then pour it over ice and sweeten to taste.

• Steep for 2-3 minutes | water temperature: 75° C/ 170° F
