Certified B Corporation
B Corp certification is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. B Corps are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab. They meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Moreover, they're are businesses that benefit our world, and make the world a better place by virtue of what they do.
A Source of Joy in the World
GROSCHE is a social enterprise with a mission to “Be a Source of Joy in the World”, for customers, employees, society and the planet, and to grow sustainably. Consequently, we use our profits to do social development work domestically and internationally. Our projects include safe water development in India, Africa, and the Phillippines.
What are B Corps?
Our B Impact report shows how we have scored in each area of the B Corp assessment. The total assessment has a maximum possible sore of 200 points, with 80 points being the required score to become a B Corporation. Moreover, a score of 80 is also the median score given to businesses that have taken the audit.
Why GROSCHE became a B Corp
We became a B Corp to join a group of like-minded businesses that believe in social change through ethical commerce.
GROSCHE is a family-run and majority woman-owned and operated business based out of Ontario, Canada. We work to grow sustainably and use our profits to do good in the world.
We believe that for-profit businesses have a huge role to play in addressing the challenges we face. We're also looking for inspiration from others and want to inspire others as well on our journey to show that business 2.0 will make the world a better place.

2016 & 2017 B Corp 'Best for the World' honouree
The B Corp Best for the World List recognizes those companies that create the most impact for a better world.
We were specifically recognized for our work in the area of environmental sustainability. Businesses awarded have earned an Environment B Corp score in the top 10% of more than 1,800 B Corps from 50 different countries.
At GROSCHE, we are conscious of our environmental footprint. Because of this, we track, monitor, and analyse all aspects of it from our office to our warehouse. To reduce our footprint, we have initiated projects and partnered with like-minded organizations.
We've switched to LED lighting and installed an air exchange system to reduce our energy consumption. We've also planted trees, put green energy back onto the grid and diverted close to 80% of all our waste away from landfills. Furthermore, we're Carbon Neutral since 2012.

The change we seek
Our goal at GROSCHE is to accelerate the transition of commerce to Business 2.0. This new type of business is restorative by nature and leaves no footprint for future generations to address.
Furthermore, we believe in building a successful ethical business that grows because of its sustainability efforts and inspires others to do the same.
Finally, we focus on creating long term means for people to rise out of poverty and do that by developing and supporting Safe Water Projects internationally.
Safe water allows people to be healthy and go to work. We teach the water filter recipients how to build, install, service and sell them to create local employment and income for the long term.
At GROSCHE, we also focus on education, health, tree planting, climate change advocacy, and local community efforts. Additionally, GROSCHE is a living wage employer, carbon neutral, and a woman-owned and operated Canadian family business since 2006.
