I had been searching for an insulated stainless steel travel mug for HOT liquids with a proper lid. I use public transportation and I wanted a mug with a lid that completely covers the mouthpiece. This mug does just that and it also comes with a removable infuser so you can add a teabag, boil water and pour as you head out the door. I love that it uses minimal plastic components.
This company has stellar customer service. It's a family-owned business and I didn't want to cause any issues, but they responded very assertively to my concerns. I had an issue with my initial order and they seamlessly assisted me by sending me a new bottle, no questions asked. Also, I didn't mention this in my other reviews, but I love that we're supporting an important cause with our purchase.
CONS
I do wish the lid didn't have that soft touch finish as it can peel off over time. I have a background in print and it seems like it's made of thin vinyl. I decided to scrub mine off with Cif since the material underneath is stainless steel, but I was a bit disappointed as the bits of plastic were very small and it's bad for the environment. The rubber seal can be removed for a deep clean, but I do find that it's a bit thick which makes closing the lid difficult at times. The only other thing is that I believe the quality of the stainless steel is only 304, but that's okay. Just wipe the outer part of the bottle as it can corrode slightly with prolonged exposure to water or acids. If it does corrode, you can just scrub it off.
I would still recommend this product if you are looking for something very specific and it's on sale at the time of this writing. I am just a bit picky, but these things might not be an issue for you. I will use my bottle despite the few imperfections.
