A fragrant organic coffee with a medium body and mild acidity

The Colombia Bogota from GROSCHE is a Fairtrade Certified™ and organic coffee. Colombia is known for its delicious coffee and this one is no exception. With a delicate and gentle acidity, this single origin coffee has a medium body with a clean, sweet and strong-flavoured finish. The Colombia Bogota is currently only available in our decaf espresso roast. It comes in a 1 pound bag.

100% organic and Fairtrade Certified™

Our Colombia Bogota is a responsibly grown coffee that is 100% organic providing you with a coffee that is pure, pesticide and herbicides free and full of flavour. Because organic coffee beans are not treated with chemicals and/or toxic ingredients it is often higher in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

Our Colombia Bogota is also Fairtrade Certified™. Fairtrade empowers small-scale farmers and workers by providing them with better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade.

By purchasing fairtrade coffee beans you are also protecting the local environment and helping to invest in local coffee growing communities.

Decaffeinated Coffee Bean

Interested in a cup of joe without the side effects of caffeine? A decaf coffee is a great option for those late night conversations. Want a hot afternoon cool drink? Consider a cool decaf iced coffee or cold brew with this bean.

Whole Bean Coffee

We offer numerous grinds for all GROSCHE coffee beans, but we recommend shipping all of our coffees as whole bean coffees. This allows you to custom grind your beans for your preferred brewing method. It also means, that you get the freshest and most aromatic tasting coffee every time. Use a coarse to medium grind for French press and pour over coffee makers and a fine grind for stovetop espresso makers.

Espresso Bean vs. Standard Coffee Bean

The difference between espresso coffee beans and a standard coffee bean is not as obvious as one might think.

The physical bean isn't what makes your cup different its more the roast time and method of brewing. Espresso coffee beans are typically roasted for longer than the average standard bean and are more tightly compact. The roast time allows for a stronger extraction of oils from the bean, leading to a bolder, richer and more concentrated flavour.

How to Store your Coffee

A common misconception about storing coffee is that is good to put it in the freezer. Freezing your coffee puts it in contact with moisture which ends up draining it of its flavor. The best place to store your Colombia Bogota coffee is within an airtight container, somewhere cool, dark and dry.

This could be a pantry or a cabinet, just as long as it’s somewhere away from heat and light. If you really want to store your coffee on your counter, keep the coffee in a canister that is opaque, airtight, and away from direct sunlight. Use it up within 1-2 weeks of opening to enjoy a coffee with the freshest, fullest aroma.
