Green Pearl Organic Green Tea
Only the best leaves are used to achieve this high-grade delicious tea! The top two leaves and the new bud are taken and spread out on a table where they are selected one by one. The best tea is made during March and April when the tea bush awakens from its winter sleep and emerges its new shoots in the spring. They are plucked at pre-dawn when the leaf is covered in a misty dew which improves the taste. Green Pearl tea boasts a deep green tea flavour and colour, as well as a fresh grassy aroma. It is a remarkable organic green tea for multiple infusions, as the flavour will keep fairly well, even after the third steeping! A wonderful choice for classic green tea drinkers looking for exceptional taste and quality. With the added benefit of being an organic leaf, Green Pearl offers bounteous health advantages to make it a valued gem.
Green Tea Benefits
Green tea is loaded with flavonoids and catechins; polyphenols which function as powerful antioxidants and protect the body from free radicals. These radicals cause cell and molecule damage which cause aging and countless diseases. It contains EGCG’s; a potent antioxidant which can help to destroy cancer-causing free radicals in the body. Green tea fires up neurons and neurotransmitters such as Dopamine and Norepinephrine, which improve mood, concentration, memory, vigilance, and reaction time; stimulating overall brain function. This organic green tea contains L-Theanine which has an antianxiety effect and increases Dopamine and the production of alpha waves in the brain. Multiple studies show that the catechin compounds in green tea can have various protective effects on Neurons and can potentially lower the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. In addition, the catechins in green tea may inhibit the growth of bacteria and some viruses such as the influenza virus, as well as lower the risk of infections.
How to Steep it
This is an excellent tea for multiple infusions! Simply, pour hot water over the leaf over again and re-steep.
To enjoy this tea hot, add one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for every 12 oz. (350 ml) of water. Let it steep for 2-3 minutes in 80 degrees C water. Do not use water any hotter than this as it will make the tea taste bitter and astringent.
To make this tea iced, add one teaspoon of loose leaf tea for 9 oz. (263 ml) of water. Let it steep for 2-3 minutes in 80 degrees water. Once steeping has completed, pour over ice.
