Marble Cake Irish Tea
Earl Grey tea has long been a well-loved classic both in Europe as well as in North America. However, many of us don’t realize that there are also green tea versions of this tea tradition. Our Marble cake Irish tea begins with a base of potent gunpowder green tea, perfect for those who prefer multiple infusions and enjoy a stronger and more ardent green tea flavour. However, it is the pronounced citrus of bergamot essence which constitutes this cup as an eligible Earl Grey green tea. This blend also showcases notes of vanilla and is decorated with sweet candied shamrocks for a touch of Irish flair. Savour a cup and you might find yourself dancing an Irish jig!
How to Steep it
Green tea is more delicate than other types of tea and therefore, needs to be steeped using a lower temperature than that of black or herbal teas. To make it hot, place one teaspoon of tea for every 12 oz./350 ml into your infuser. Set the infuser in your mug or teapot and let it steep for 2-3 minutes in 80-degree Celsius water. Once steeping is complete, remove the infuser and enjoy!
To enjoy it cold, place one teaspoon of tea for every 9 oz./263 ml into your infuser. Set the infuser in your mug or teapot and let it steep for 2-3 minutes in 80-degee Celsius water. Once steeping is complete, remove the infuser, pour over ice and enjoy!
To create a marble cake Irish tea version of the London Fog, simply steep the tea according to instructions, but with half the amount of hot water. Froth milk of choice. Add steeped tea to cup with vanilla syrup, and stir. Pour over frothed milk.
